Attorney Registration for E-Filing

Attorneys admitted to the bar of this court (including those admitted pro hac vice) and others as the court deems appropriate, must file documents electronically utilizing the court’s Electronic Filing System. (Administrative Procedures for Filing, Signing, and Verifying Pleadings and Papers by Electronic Means, Section I(A) )

Filing Users must have a PACER account to obtain access to the Southern District of Georgia’s NextGen CM/ECF system. 

How to Obtain E-filing Access:

Go to PACER to register for a PACER account, request admission to practice, and register for E-Filing privileges.

If you do not yet have a PACER account:

Select Register for an Account 

Select Attorney Filers for CM/ECF from the drop-down list 

Follow instructions to Register for PACER Account  

After you register for a PACER account, you may register for E-Filing privileges.   

Only attorneys who have been admitted to practice in this Court will receive electronic filing privileges.

In  PACER,  

Log in to Manage My Account.  

Follow instructions to complete the Attorney Admissions and E-File Registration processes for admission to practice and electronically file in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia, a NextGen CM/ECF court.   

You may register for a PACER account, request Attorney admission to practice in the District according to the attorney admissions/PHV procedures, and Register for E-Filing privileges at one time, or you may complete each process at separate times.  You must register for a PACER account first.   

You will receive email notification from the Southern District of Georgia regarding your registration.

 

REGISTERING FOR EFILING PRIVILEGES

In order to receive electronic filing privileges, you must have an individual, upgraded PACER account.   Once you have secured this account information, follow these steps: 

  1. Navigate to www.pacer.gov
  2. Select the Manage Your Account option on the homepage
  3. Login with your PACER credentials
  4. Select Maintenance
  5. Select Attorney Admissions / E-Filing Request
  6. Choose District Court and Georgia Southern from the dropdown menu
  7. Choose the E-File only option
  8. Complete the required information and submit your request

 

Once your efiling request has been screened and processed, you will receive email notification from pacer.gov.  To file in our Court you will use your PACER credentials.  If those credentials are lost or otherwise compromised, you must call the Pacer Service Center to resolve the issue.  The only way to receive filing access is through pacer.gov.  Do not use any attorney registration links on our website to attempt to gain access.
